BINDERY - EXPERIENCED

The Ideal Candidate
Performs
responsible manual and machine operator tasks in the setup, maintenance
and operation of cutters, collators, folders, and stitchers.
Reviews and interprets instructions; orders materials; completes
production records (time sheets, job jackets).
Performs cutting operations - cuts paper to size or trims finished
signatures; sets up trimmer to specifications; operates trimmer;
performs calculations; removes or replaces knives on cutters/trimmers;
programs multiple cuts on automated cutters.
Performs folder operations - hand gathers single sheets and signatures;
operates single-sheet collator; sets up collator(s); decides on
methods to assemble jobs; loads and maintains supply of sheets in
collator pockets.
Performs stitching operations - sets up hand or power stitchers;
sets up gauges and mechanisms to detect doubles; operates saddle
stitcher; makes decisions on stitching methods; changes knife on
trimmer; does minor stitch head maintenance.
Performs other binding operations: punches; plastic binder; pad
gluing; round cornering.
Performs process related trouble-shooting and correction; monitors
production.
Performs routine preventative maintenance.
Assists in cleanup and keeping immediate work area neat and orderly.
Understands proper safety procedures regarding operations and all
bindery equipment.
Performs other duties as requested.
This part-time bindery position requires good mathematical skills;
the ability to apply written instructions to machine set-up; performs
good housekeeping; demonstrates reliability through attendance,
punctuality, and attention to work station; cooperates with coworkers
and supervisor; and demonstrates a positive attitude.

EXPERIENCED PRESSMAN
Small Press (Ryobi, Heidelberg)
Full Time position

The
Ideal Candidate
Performs responsible manual and machine operator tasks in the setup, maintenance and operation of a printing press.
Reads instructions from job jacket and sets up press based on instructions. As required, sets feeder, side guide, pressures; registers job; measures pH of fountain solution; maintains ink/water balance; transposes stock.
Makes job ready by running samples to make adjustments to print quality and color proof or PMS color.
Makes final pre-run inspection of job and approves or confers with supervisor for approval. Responsible for quality of printed work.
Operates one, two and four color printing presses to print in accordance with job orders.
Maintains knowledge of safety requirements of job and equipment; becomes familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals used. Wears appropriate safety protection when using or mixing chemicals. Sees to proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Performs preventative maintenance on press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts.
Operates and assists on other pressroom equipment if needed and when work load permits.
Assists in cleaning up and keeping immediate work area neat and orderly.
Performs prepress tasks such as stripping or burning plates and paper trimming when necessary.
Performs other duties as requested.
This pressman position is for the Small Press area; primarily Ryobi 2/c & 4/c and Heidelberg.
Bindery experience a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities
Sell
company capabilities to new and established customers. Act as service
representative to customers.
Accountable for maintaining and expanding annual profitable sales
to assigned customers.
Complete quotes for jobs and potential jobs.
Maintain customer relations and customer satisfaction.
Obtain customer job specifications in complete detail and closes
sales based upon estimate and selling price guidelines provided.
Accurately report use of time and expenses. Analyze and reports
why quotations did not become live jobs.
Inform CSRs of customer problems, changes, or new information.
Assist the customer in planning jobs by offering creative ideas
on design, layout and finishing.
Develop additional contacts at each account or assures continuity
and/or sales growth.
Maintain call records, expense account records and customer information
sheets.
Work closely with Estimator, Production Manager and CSRs.
Attend scheduled sales meetings and participates in training.
