Since 1992 Small Associates has been woman owned and proud to be recognized in the state of Delaware as a Certified Woman-Owned Business since 2002.

Joseph W. Small Associates, Inc. was started by Joseph W. and Alice L. Small in 1964 and was incorporated in the State of Delaware on July 20, 1967.  The business started as a part-time hobby printing venture in the basement of their home.  In June, 1969 the company moved to their current location at 406 Marsh Road.  In 1976, the Advertising Specialty Division was added.  For many years Joseph and Alice shared equal responsibilities for the operation and management of the company.  On June 8, 1992 Alice became the majority stockholder of the company and on April 15, 1994, she was named President of the corporation.  Today Alice still continues in that role.       

In 1996, Sarah Small Watson, daughter of the Smalls, joined the staff as a full-time employee, eventually becoming a sales associate.  She currently spends her time caring for her family.  Rebecca Small-Hayman, another daughter, joined the company full time in January 2002 in a sales support position.  Currently Becki is an Account Executive in the Advertising Specialty Division and is now assuming a major role in the management of the company.
 
On December 31, 2004, our co-founder and co-owner Joseph W. Small passed away, leaving total management to his wife Alice.  Rebecca Small-Hayman was then named a director of the corporation and filled her father’s role as Secretary-Treasurer of the company.
